FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fibres of basalt stock and can be used for production of whatever materials for motor car production. Proposed process comprises loading of basalt rock into furnace, fusing and melt feeing into glass feeders. Hydraulic lock located ahead of flow channel is used to create three zones of fused basalt in tank furnace pool: stationary lower zone of crystallized basalt, mid low-mobility zone containing minor amount of crystalline inclusions and working low of basalt melt without inclusions. Structure composed of two-three heated slotted stones is arranged between top and bottom slotted stone and glass feeder. Equipment for production of basalt fibres comprises adapter nozzles with one or several slots.

EFFECT: higher quality of basalt melt, stabilized feed of basalt melt.
