FIELD: glass fiber production. SUBSTANCE: proposed plant has melting furnace, heating elements, charging unit and spinneret feeder. Melting furnace has glass making and yielding parts, feeder system consisting of prechannel and working channel in bottom of which holes are made with pitch of 800-1250 mm under which spinneret feeders are installed and equipment assembled into glass spinning cells. Level pickup installed in working channel consists of two platinum-rhodium electrodes arranged on one line and immersed in glass mass. Working part of one of level pickup electrodes is made in form of pyramid, ratio of area of pyramid base to its height being 0.5 - 4.0 : 1. heating elements of feeder system are arranged along side walls with pitch of 100-150 mm. Charging unit has charging chamber and drum-type charger. Drum of charger is provided with groove arranged at angle of 10-15 degrees relative to drum generating line, and shaft of drum of charging unit is furnished with spring-loaded coupling. EFFECT: increased capacity of plant, reduced consumption and losses of precious metals, low capital outlays at construction, increased service life of plant. 3 cl, 5 dwg
