FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of glass filaments from a thermoplastic material and can be used in factories producing fiberglass products. Disclosed is a device for the production of glass filaments from a thermoplastic material, including a rectangular metal cassette for loading thermoplastic material, a sealed housing made of ceramic refractory material, in which melting, homogenization of the melt of thermoplastic material and filaments are formed, with a perforated screen and a multi-filter platinum-rhodium feeder in the bottom, having one circuit of connection to the power supply system, the height of a water-cooled metal cassette of rectangular shape for loading thermoplastic material should be within 80-400 mm, a perforated longitudinally located screen made of a heat-resistant alloy of the platinum-rhodium group is additionally equipped with a ceramic superstructure made of refractory ceramic material with a trapezoidal in cross-section with the part expanding down, and the size of the upper part of the trapezoid should be 1-1.5 of the width of the water-cooled metal cassette of rectangular shape for loading thermoplastic material, the size of the bottom of the trapezoid is within the width of the inlet of the perforated longitudinally arranged screen.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce the consumption and loss of precious metals, to improve the operational reliability and technical and economic indicators of the process and to reduce the cost of the glass thread.
