FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves examining characteristics of the psycho-physiological state (PPS) by presenting diverse stimuli to a person being tested each of which is expected to elicit its own reaction scenario implying a sequence of alternating excitatory and inhibitory processes depending on the stimulus parameters, with controlling the stimuli presentation rate depending on the accuracy of the reaction of the person being tested. The PPS characteristics is presented by a nervous process liability (NPL) evaluated by the recorded total number of stimuli for a specified period of the test time. As additional PPS characteristics, warming-up and endurance of the nervous system are to be evaluated by staging the specified period of the test time equally. Recorded stimuli number arrays, inter-stimulus interval lengths (ISIL), errors and accurate reactions of the person being tested are determined and recorded at each stage. Average ISIL is determined at each stage, and diagrams showing average ISIL and recorded stimuli numbers variations at each test stage, as well as a flow chart of errors of each stimulus reactions of the person being tested are constructed. The warming-up is shown by the length of the average ISIL diagram plateau taking into consideration the flow chart of reaction errors of the person being tested, whereas the endurance is shown by the shape of the average ISIL diagrams and the recorded stimuli number. The individual's PPS is assessed by the derived NPL test results, warming-up and endurance of the nervous system.
