FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: braces are installed up to second molars. Upper teeth are aligned. An orthodontic mini-implant 10-12 mm long is installed within a maxillary tuberosity at the stage of full-sized steel arches so that an implant axis is parallel with a dental axis, whereas an implant head is at the level of a brace socket. A lingual button is fixed on a palatal surface of the second molar. An elastic energy is applied from the braces of the second molar to the mini-implant and then to the lingual button, which is followed by alternative major distallisation of the lateral teeth.
EFFECT: by eliminating the necessity of additional appliances, extrusion of the second molar and re-implantation, the method enables performing distallisation of the lateral upper teeth using no additional appliances, as well as providing stability of the distally displaced teeth at the stage of front teeth retraction.
