FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and specifically to a method for quantitative determination of nucleic acids. The method includes labelling a universal reference oligonucleotide with a fluorescent marker; plotting a standard curve using serial dilution of the labelled universal reference oligonucleotide by plotting a curve of intensity of the fluorescent marker versus concentration of the labelled reference oligonucleotide; amplifying the target nucleic acid in the presence of the fluorescent marker, which labels the amplified target nucleic acid, wherein the universal reference oligonucleotide is not amplified or is jointly not amplified with the target nucleic acid; comparing, in real time, the intensity of the fluorescent marker associated with the labelled amplified target nucleic acid with the standard curve; determining the amount of the amplified target nucleic acid.
EFFECT: present invention enables to quantitatively determine nucleic acids for investigating gene expression without the need to normalise data to the constitutive gene or to the synthetic gene of interest.
