FIELD: physics, computation hardware.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image readers. Image reader (1) comprises diffuser (5) with front surface to support pin (6). Light source (11) irradiates said pin (6) with light at prescribed angle from the side of diffuser (5) rear surface. This device includes mirror (13) whereto falls the light from source (11) to be reflected by pin (6) at diffuser (5). CCD (12) traps the image of pin (6) and outputs image signal. Motor (25) drives the reader unit (3) including at least one light source (11), mirror (13) and CCD (12) in direction of subscanning.
EFFECT: higher definition, compact design.
