FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, and can be used for ion-plasma hardening of the tool with dimensions exceeding overall dimensions of the unit work chamber. The unit contains vacuum chamber, electric arc evaporator with cathode assemblies, installed with possibility of rotation, and item rotation gear. Besides, it is equipped with elongating cylinders, fastening devices, Teflon guides and ring, at that the holes are made on the top and bottom panels of the vacuum chamber, on them the elongating cylinders are secured with possibility of installation of the item end parts. The fastening devices are made with possibility of items vertical installation in them and longitudinal movement in the Teflon guides ensuring electric insulation from the vacuum chamber, and the ring is installed with possibility of location on the item and engagement with shaft of the rotating gear.
EFFECT: invention extends range of items hardened in the ion-plasma units.
