FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: klystron-type superpower UHF instrument contains a solenoid and an electronic gun comprising several cathodes, the emitting surface of each of which has a shape of lateral surface of truncated cone the axis of which is parallel to a solenoid axis, the resonator system, the collector, UHF energy input and output. The electronic gun of the instrument contains the control electrode implemented in the form of set of single control electrodes implemented in the form of the hollow truncated cones each of which encloses the respective cathode. Internal diameter in the narrowest part of each single control electrode is greater than the diameter of widest part of the emitting surface of the cathode corresponding to it, the microwave energy input is implemented in the form of UHF input of the conductor electrically connected with the coaxial line and placed along the instrument axis in the centre of the input resonator, the lead of UHF energy is implemented in the form of, at least, two waveguide leads symmetrised with reference to the instrument axis. Each of the waveguide leads is electromagnetically connected through the slot of link with the output resonator.

EFFECT: increase of efficiency and pulse and average output power.
