SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices of lighting and circuits of their control. The result is achieved by the fact that a light diode source (3) of light comprises the first and second light diode units (8, 9), each of which comprises one light-emitting diode, controlled switching facilities (10) for connection of the mentioned light diode units (8, 9) with a reactive element (6) in the low-voltage mode and in the high-voltage mode and a control unit (12). The light diode source (3) of light has the first direct voltage in the specified mode of low voltage and the second direct voltage in the specified mode of high voltage, besides, the specified second direct voltage is higher than the specified first direct voltage. The control unit (12) is made as capable of controlling current passing via the light diode source (3) of light, by means of setting switching facilities (10) into the specified low voltage mode, when current supplied to the specified light diode source (3) of light, corresponds to the first threshold value (30), and by setting switching facilities (10) into the high voltage mode, when the specified supplied current corresponds to the second threshold value (31).

EFFECT: operation of a light diode source of light with required average luminosity without substantial flicker.
