FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, particularly, to brake shoes of passenger and freight cars, electrical trains, diesel locomotives, etc. Brake shoe producing abrasive nanoparticles in tribocontact comprises metal carcass, one- or two-layer composite friction element and insert or several metal inserts. Said insert or inserts are made of silicon iron with silicon content of 5.0-7.5 wt %.
EFFECT: more stable friction properties, formation of abrasive nanoparticles in zone of tribocontact between shoe surface and wheel rolling surface to up the friction factor.
