FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to brake shoes of railway vehicles operating in tribocoupling with the rolling surface of a wheel. Railroad vehicle shoe includes a metal frame and a thermally conductive composite friction element with a polymer matrix of rubber vulcanizate in which dispersed and fibrous fillers are disposed. Polymer matrix additionally contains particles of low-silica ferrosilicon and particles of high-silica ferrosilicon.
EFFECT: increase in the performance characteristics of the shoe due to giving it a "wheel-saving" effect due to the introduction of heat-conducting elements into the shoe, capable of forming particles with tribocoupling, up to nano-sized, providing a cleaning and polishing effect on the rolling surface of the wheel.
