FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method of silver extraction from scrap of silver-zinc batteries containing lead means the scrap melting at heating temperature 1150-1200°C, cooling of the obtained melt with rate from 1950°C/h to 2050°C/h to temperature 400°C, and melting of the obtained cooled alloy at heating temperature 1150-1200°C. The scrap is melted with additive of the degassing flux in amount of 10-15% of scrap weight, after melt cooling zinc slag is separated, and cooled alloy is melted with additive of the covering flux in amount of 2-3% of scrap weight with production of the lead slag and rough silver. Mixture of sodium carbonate and silicon dioxide is used as degassing flux, and mixture of magnesium chloride and sodium chloride is used as covering flux.
EFFECT: increased silver content in the rough alloy, and reduced silver losses.
