Treating osteoarthritis involves the stage of administering into the individual an immunoglobulin binding protein with a double variable domain (DVD-Ig) binding both Il-1α, and IL-1β, and treating thereby osteoarthritis in the individual. The using invention is accompanied by producing a synergetic effect aiming at relieving pain in the patients who have been taking immunoglobulin proteins.

EFFECT: invention provides DVD-Ig, which bind IL-1α and IL-1β, as compared to the patients who have been treated with anti-IL-1α or anti-IL-1β immunoglobulins only.
