FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and can be used for treating osteoarthritis in an individual suffering from osteoarthritis. Treating osteoarthritis involves the stage of administering into the individual an immunoglobulin binding protein with a double variable domain (DVD-Ig) binding both Il-1α, and IL-1β, and treating thereby osteoarthritis in the individual. The using invention is accompanied by producing a synergetic effect aiming at relieving pain in the patients who have been taking immunoglobulin proteins.
EFFECT: invention provides DVD-Ig, which bind IL-1α and IL-1β, as compared to the patients who have been treated with anti-IL-1α or anti-IL-1β immunoglobulins only.
