FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to X-ray equipment, in particular to low-power miniature X-ray sources, and may be used for manufacture of devices for express diagnostic and local exposure in medicine, engineering and household use. The X-ray source is made as a glass cylinder of tablet shape consisting of two glass cover-window and cover glued vacuum-tight at the edge by low-melting lead glass. Inside the cylinder there is a target and anode matched and made as film of selected electroconductive material applied to the cover-window. Cathode is made as a field-emission cathode in the form of powdered coating onto film of gas absorbent applied to the cover. Control electrode is made as two metal grids with microchannel glass plate between them. Control electrode intensifies flow of electrons emitted from the cathode and reflects X-ray radiation from cathode towards anode.
EFFECT: increase in useful output of X-ray radiation; reduced electric load to anode and cathode and increase of durability and operational stability in result; expanding functionality of the device due to its environmental safety.
