SUBSTANCE: method includes providing a silicon-containing precursor contained in a solution having pH lower than or equal to 7; adding a metal to the solution; adjusting the pH of the solution to a value higher than 7; adding an effective amount of a salt to the solution so that conductance of the solution is 4 mS or higher; filtering and drying the silicon-containing precursor; reacting the dried product with a functional group.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain functionalised silicon dioxide doped with a metal oxide or metal sulphide.
