FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: device comprises a temperature sensor (6) and a module for sound speed measurement (8). The temperature sensor is made as capable to determine the first temperature T1 for fluid and supplying on its basis a temperature signal (12) into a computing module (10). The sound speed measurement module (8) is made as capable to determine the first speed v1 of sound for fluid at temperature T1 and to supply on its basis a sound speed signal (14) into the computing module (10). The temperature sensor (6) is additionally made as capable to determine the second temperature T2 for fluid. The computing module (10) is made as capable to calculate absolute value of difference ΔT of temperatures between T1 and T2 and comparison of ΔT with the specified threshold value TTN. If ΔT exceeds TTN, then they determine the second sound speed v2 for fluid at temperature T2. The computing module (10) is made as capable to compare v1 and v2 with appropriate first and second reference values vrefl and vref2 of speed for the reference fluid at appropriate temperatures T1 and T2. An indicator signal is generated on the basis of the comparison result.
EFFECT: increased accuracy and validity of produced data.
