FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention represents a device for detection of defects of small linear sizes. The device represents a software/hardware complex including an eddy current converter (ECC), a personal computer with a sound card and software: a virtual generator, units for processing of a signal and control, control of sensor movement, - as well as USB/LPT interface, and a step motor. The signal is supplied from the virtual generator through a digital-to-analogue converter to exciting and compensation windings of ECC and causes occurrence of a local electromagnetic field that at interaction with the measured object is changed, and then, the changed signal is fixed on a measurement winding of ECC. The measurement winding is opposite connected to the compensation winding. The converter is connected to different interfaces: an audio card as part of the personal computer, via a wireless channel to a mobile phone and transmits the measured data to the developed software, where they are displayed by the indicator.

EFFECT: device allows detecting defects of small linear sizes, as well as defects lying inside the test object.
