FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: orthopaedic device for a lower extremity comprises a spring-elastic element configured as a closed loop of spring wire with two support structures connected together by loop-shaped lateral branches. Each support structure is zigzagged and configured as several loops, branches of which are parallel to each other. The first support structure is embodied in a cuff and placed in front of a shin with the second one fastened within a shank area of sole. Loops of the lateral branches are configured to envelope inner and outer ankle bones.
EFFECT: smooth motion of walking feet, reducing patient's efforts when his/her leg separates from a bearing surface.
