FIELD: physics, signalling.
SUBSTANCE: system for protecting railway crossings relates to means of providing safety at points where motor vehicles cross railway lines. The system for protecting railway crossings includes cross traffic lights A and B, electromechanical blocking apparatus, a voice alert system, horn loudspeakers, video cameras, a branching box, a video signal transmission unit, a data collection module, a duty operator's panel, a normalisation relay, an alarm relay, a diagnostic information display device, an information output unit, a local control panel, a duty operator's video monitor, a video detector, a block of video signal receivers, a duty operator's station. The system further includes axes counting stations, drive control circuits of the electromechanical blocking apparatus, control circuits for the heads of the cross traffic lights and acoustic radiators, loop inductive sensors, a transmitting unit of a wireless communication subsystem, an alarm signalling unit, a block of loop inductive sensors, microwave sensors, a microwave sensor control unit and a crossing controller.
EFFECT: improved traffic safety at railway crossings.
