FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing gel comprises mixing diphenylol propane, formaldehyde, a catalyst and water in molar ratio 1:(3.7-4.3):(1.6-2.5):(28-66), ageing the obtained mixture into a resin for 6-10 days at a temperature not higher than 27°C while stirring periodically until achieving pycnometric specific gravity of 1.19-1.21 g/cm3, diluting the resin to the required concentration, curing the obtained solution in an ampoule in an autoclave at 180-235°C for 0.5-8 hours, followed by cooling and post-curing of the obtained gel. Foam is obtained by replacing water in the organic gel by washing multiple times with an organic solvent, replacing the organic solvent with carbon dioxide in a supercritical state, followed by removal thereof at constant temperature and gradually reducing pressure.
EFFECT: obtaining organic gels and organic foam with improved properties.
