SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for treatment or prevention of age-related dysfunction of retina, age-related impairment of dark adaptation after exposure to light, mediated by retinal rods, as well as to method for improvement of rhodopsin regeneration factor. Said methods include introduction of pharmaceutically effective amount of 11-cis retinal or 9-cis-retinal synthetic derivative to subject periodically for at least four months.
EFFECT: invention ensures considerable improvement of age-related destruction of photoreceptor function.
