SUBSTANCE: method of executing a machine instruction in a central processing unit, comprising obtaining, by a processor, a machine instruction for execution, the machine instruction being defined for computer execution according to a computer architecture and including: at least one operation code field to provide an operation code; the operating code identifies a load to block boundary operation; a register field to be used to designate a register; the register includes a first operand; at least one field for detecting a second operand in main memory; and a block boundary size indicator for indicating the specified second operand block boundary; and executing the machine instruction, which comprises: loading a variable amount of data from the second operand block into the first operand while providing loading into the first operand only data located within the block. Loading from the block begins with the machine instruction-provided source address in the second operand block and ends at or before the specified second operand block boundary.

EFFECT: high efficiency of loading data into registers.
