FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in manufacturing neutron-absorbing materials for control rods in systems of control and protection of nuclear reactors. Method for obtaining ceramic materials based on nanocrystalline dysprosium hafnate powders includes production of mixed dysprosium and hafnium hydroxide by dissolution of salts HfOCl2·8H2O and Dy(NO3)3·5H2O in water and addition of obtained solution to ammonia solution. After that, filtration and washing of obtained sediment, drying with further calcination to obtain dysprosium hafnate, its milling, pressing and annealing of obtained compacts are carried out. Stage of drying and calcinations of mixed hydroxide is carried out under impact of SHF-radiation with continuous power 1.5-6.0 kW. Temperature is changed step-by-step within 1.0-1.5 hour until nanocrystalline dysprosium hafnate powder is obtained.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce duration of drying and calcinations of mixed dysprosium and hafnium hydroxide and obtain ceramic materials with high density.
