FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method consists in alkoxylation of 1,2-dihydroxybenzene solution in atmosphere of inert gas by interaction with bromobutane and alkali solution, extraction of 1,2-dibutoxybenzene by vacuum distillation. Alkoxylation is carried out by dosing at temperature 95…100°C of potassium hydroxide solution in ethyleneglycol in solution of 1,2-dihydroxybenzene in bromobutane, reaction mass is exposed with mixing for 5 hours at 105°C, cooled, potassium bromide is filtered, upper layer is separated from filtrate, distilled at residual pressure 1.56 kPa with separation of fraction in the interval of boiling temperature 132…140°C, which is purified by processing with alkaline water-methanol solution, washed with water and dried by known methods.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to obtain target product with high degree of purity with high output.
