FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing (1,5,3-dithiazepan-3-yl)-quinolines of formula (1), which can be used as antioxidants, fungicides, antimicrobial agents and as selective complexing agents. The method includes reacting 2-, or 3-, or 6-, or 8-aminoquinoline with 1-oxa-3,6-dithiacycloheptane in the presence of a Sm(NO3)3·6H2O catalyst in the medium of ethanol-chloroform solvents at room temperature for 2.5-3.5 hours. Output of (1,5,3-dithiazepan-3-yl)-quinolines (1) is 80-95%.
