METHOD FOR INTEGRATED ASSESSMENT OF PREDICTED CLINICAL COURSE AND EFFECTIVENESS IN HYPERTROPHY OF PHARYNGEAL TONSIL AND CHRONIC ADENOIDITIS IN CHILDREN SHOWN BY SKIN OXIDANT/ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61B5/00 G01N33/483 G01N27/26

Abstract RU 2565838 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: integrated examination of an ill child is conducted, including: interviewing for complaints, nasal, nasopharyngeal and laryngeal fibrovideoendoscopy, and tympanometry. Potentiometric study of skin antioxidant/oxidant activity (AOA/OA) is conducted on a patient's internal forearm. If observing a skin AOA/OA of 2.5-4.0*105 M-eq and more with a combination of one of three findings in the patient: improvement following the previous conservative treatment, duration of snoring and sleeping snuffles less than three months, absence of obstructive sleep apnoea, loss of hearing less than three months, absence of recurrent acute otitis media in the last three months in the past medical history, degree II-III hypertrophy of pharyngeal tonsil, type A, B, C tympanometry, type B tympanometry of the length less than 3 months, a conservative therapeutic course is conducted. If observing a skin AOA/OA of 2.5-4.0*105 M-eq and more with a combination of one of three findings in the patient: at least two therapeutic courses appeared ineffective, duration of snoring and sleeping snuffles more than three months, the presence of obstructive sleep apnoea, loss of hearing more than three months in the past medical history, or recurrent acute otitis media in the last three months in the past medical history, degree II-III hypertrophy of pharyngeal tonsil, type B tympanometry of the length of more than 3 months, the patient requires adenotomy.

EFFECT: method enables performing the non-invasive fast, objective diagnosis, prescribing the timely treatment by the integrated examination of the patients, conducting the potentiometric study of skin AOA/OA.
