METHOD FOR ASSESSING EFFECTIVENESS OF ADENOTOMY IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2815755 C1

FIELD: medicine; otorhinolaryngology; pediatrics.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to assess the effectiveness of adenotomy in children aged 3 to 14 years. 12 months after the surgery, the following is detected: concentration of child’s attention, physical activity, causeless awakening at night, coughing, snoring, breathing through the mouth, nasal breathing difficulties, nasal discharge, congestion in the ear/ears, antibiotic therapy, readenotomy, ARVI diseases, otitis media, rhinosinusitis. Indicators are evaluated in points. Thereafter, the adenotomy efficacy index (AEI) is calculated by the claimed formula. If the condition AEI≥6 is met, the effectiveness of the adenotomy in the child is considered to be unsatisfactory.

EFFECT: method is reliable and enables assessing the effectiveness of adenotomy in children aged 3 to 14 years by assessing a complex of the most significant parameters.
