METHOD OF EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TREATMENT OF ADENOIDITIS IN PEDIATRIC PATIENTS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B5/08 A61B1/233 A61B10/04

Abstract RU 2804728 C1

FIELD: medicine; otorhinolaryngology.

SUBSTANCE: general otorhinolaryngological examination, endoscopic examination of the nasal cavity and rhinomanometry are conducted before and after conservative treatment. Additionally, endonasal thermometry of the nasal airflow is carried out simultaneously with rhinomanometry and the pressure and temperature of the nasal airflow are examined every 2 milliseconds for 1 minute of unforced nasal breathing simultaneously for the right and left nasal passages. The Hurst coefficients for temperature and pressure are calculated for the right (НтR and НрR) and left (НтL and НрL) nasal passages by the following formula: R/S=(τ/2)H, where H is the Hurst coefficient, R/S is the range between the minimum and maximum values, τ is period of time. The Hurst coefficients for temperature (Ht) and pressure (Hp) are then calculated as averages of (HtL, Ht R) and (HpL, HpR). With a value of HT 0.8261–0.9615 and HP 0.6531–0.9786, the treatment of adenoiditis is assessed as effective. If the value of HT is 0.8260 or less and HP is 0.6530 or less, the treatment of adenoiditis is assessed as ineffective.

EFFECT: method allows to increase the accuracy and simplify the diagnostic procedure by shortening the examination time and objectifying its parameters, to conduct a personalized assessment of the features of intranasal architectonics and aerodynamics in real time in pediatric patients with nasal obstruction, to exclude the use of various intranasal vasoconstrictor drugs.
