FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: method of unit operation means alternating successive gas compression in above piston cavity of the cylinder at the piston movement towards gas distribution devices, and liquid compression in under piston cavity during the piston movement in opposite direction towards the liquid distribution devices. During the liquid compression the additional cavity is connected to the under piston cavity with variable volume, and this volume is changed depending on the liquid pressure in the under piston cavity. The hydropneumatic unit comprises main cylinder 1 with piston 2 dividing this cylinder to two cavities. Cavity 4 contains gas suction valve 5 and discharge valve 6. Cavity 7 contains liquid suction valve 8. In the discharge line the heat exchanger 12 and cooling jacket 13 are installed. The unit supplies liquid to user 20 and the compressed air user.

EFFECT: reduced losses in liquid channels increases frequency of reciprocating movement of the piston, and ensures better coordination of gas and liquid cavities operation.
