FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat treatment of tools, namely to methods of robotic laser hardening of articles from die steel. Method for robotic laser hardening of articles from die steel includes focusing a laser beam of a fiber laser on a processed surface, heating the surface layer of the material successively on areas corresponding to the size of the laser spot. Movement of the laser beam on the surface of the part is provided by a universal industrial robot manipulator with six degrees of freedom and an optical head, which controls the movement of the laser beam, in accordance with the required surface heating mode at the speed of the laser beam, time of action of laser beam on each point of surface, density of laser radiation and its orientation relative to surface of processed part, providing heating of the surface layer of the material without its melting, causing a diffuse martensite transformation during subsequent cooling.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of laser hardening of articles from die steel.
