FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing asphaltenes by deasphalting hydrocarbon material, which includes treating the material with a solvent, followed by separating the deasphaltisate solution from asphaltene-containing substances, step-by-step fractionation, wherein the material used is heavy petroleum residues, which are first oxidised with air at 245-255°C to obtain oxidised asphalt having a gel structure. The duration of oxidation is determined for each type of heavy petroleum residues upon achieving the upper inflexion point of the curve of the softening temperature of the oxidised asphalt versus the duration of oxidation.
EFFECT: improved electronic properties of asphaltenes.
