SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a parking assistance method and apparatus. Proposed method is represented by controller and display. Method of parking assistance includes steps, where available parking spaces are detected, on which the considered vehicle can be parked. As the recommended available place for parking the place suitable for parking of the considered transport vehicle is chosen, from the detected set of available places for parking. Recommended available place for parking is displayed on the display. Prohibited change of available parking space when recommended available place for parking is displayed in state when considered vehicle decelerates during detection of recommended available place.

EFFECT: provision of available parking space to driver or passenger.
