FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: primary debridement and surgical exploration of a wound are performed in an injured person suspected of a colonic injury. If the surgical debridement shows that a wound tract does not penetrate into an abdominal cavity in a combination with stable hemodynamics with no peritoneal symptoms, a cleansing enema is administered. The rinse water of the enema is chemically analysed for blood pigments by benzidine test. If the test is positive, the colonic injury is diagnosed.
EFFECT: technique enables increasing the diagnostic accuracy and reducing the injury rate.
