SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of insulating materials based on mineral fibers, preferably of glass or rock and can be used for facing buildings. Sizing composition for insulating materials based on mineral wool contains at least one non-reducing saccharide, at least one hydrogenated saccharide and at least one organic polycarboxylic acid. One or more hydrogenated saccharides comprise from 18 to 80 % of total weight of one or more non-reducing saccharides and one or more hydrogenated saccharides, wherein the total amount of non-reducing saccharides and hydrogenated saccharides ranges from 10 to 90 % of the weight of the sizing composition.

EFFECT: obtained materials have sufficient resistance to aging in a moist medium, improved hydrolytic resistance, while maintaining good mechanical properties, which makes it possible to use them outside buildings.
