SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for producing insulating products based on mineral wool, including applying an oiling composition to mineral wool fibers containing (a) at least one carbohydrate selected from reducing sugars, non-reducing sugars, hydrogenated sugars and their mixtures, (b) at least one crosslinking agent for crosslinking carbohydrate or carbohydrates; evaporating a solvent phase from the oiling composition and thermal curing of a non-volatile fraction of the composition. The crosslinking agent is preferably polycarboxylic acid. An “oil-in-water” emulsion, not including hydrolyzed polysaccharide, containing water, mineral oil and 0.5-5.0 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of mineral oil of at least one surfactant, preferably non-ionic, is added to the oiling composition, preferably immediately before its application to mineral wool fibers. The average diameter of oil droplets in the “oil-in-water” emulsion, determined by granulometric analysis by laser diffraction, is more than 5 mcm and does not exceed 400 mcm.

EFFECT: formation of an oil layer on fibers on top of a binding layer, which is effective against dust formation.
