FIELD: insulating products production.
SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to a method for producing an insulating product based on mineral or organic fibers, an aqueous binder composition, and an insulating product. A method for producing an insulating product based on mineral or organic fibers includes applying an aqueous binder composition to mineral or organic fibers, preferably mineral wool fibers, heating the fibers sized with an aqueous binder composition to evaporate the volatile phase from the aqueous binder composition and thermoset the non-volatile residue, or packaging mineral or organic fibers glued with an aqueous binder composition, for storage and/or transportation, wherein the aqueous binder composition has a pH of 1.0 to 6.5, preferably 1.5 to 5.0, and contains: (a) at least one carbohydrate selected from hydrogenated sugars, reducing sugars, non-reducing sugars and mixtures thereof, (b) at least one polycarboxylic acid or anhydride of such an acid, (c) 1-35 wt.%, based on the total weight of components (a), (b) and (c), water-soluble aminophenol resin consisting mainly of phenol-formaldehyde condensates and aminophenol-formaldehyde condensates. An insulating product based on organic or mineral fibers obtained by the above method. The group of inventions is developed in independent and dependent claims.
EFFECT: improving the mechanical properties of the insulating product, including after aging in a humid environment.
