FIELD: saving means.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to passive safety systems on ships for situations of "man overboard" and can be used to provide immediate detection of such situations and fast rescuing with own means or ships in the vicinity. The system comprises at least one item of individual equipment (1) for carrying by a crew member and a piece of equipment (10) installed on the ship board. The first module (2) of the item of equipment (1) and the piece of equipment (10) comprise modules of wireless communication. The item of equipment (10) is configured to monitor by the said communication the availability of the item of equipment (1) on the ship. In case of detection of absence of the item of equipment (1) as a result of the situation of "man overboard" an alarm signal is given, addressed to at least one member of the crew. The life jacket (5) is placed inside the first module (2) and attached to it with a belt (6). The second module (8) is placed in the inner space of the first module (2), connected to the life jacket (5) and is configured to inflate the jacket (5) in case of detection of the situation of "man overboard".

EFFECT: ensuring immediate detection of the situation of "man overboard" is achieved, precise positioning and fast rescuing of the injured person.
