FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology and can be used for selecting therapeutic approach in stenosis of lachrymal passages. Computed tomography of paranasal sinuses is performed with contrasting lachrymal passages. Average area of the lachrymal tract cut is determined by formula: Sm=V/L, where Sm is the average area of the lachrymal track cutoff; V is volume of contrasted part of lachrymal passages; L - axial length of contrasted part of lachrymal passages. If Sm 4 mm2 and more, surgical treatment is performed, while S m less than 4 mm2 conservative treatment is performed.
EFFECT: method provides selection of therapeutic approach in stenosis of lachrymal passages by determining average area of lachrymal section cut.
