SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment. Defibrillation circuit contains high-voltage circuit, made with possibility of supplying high-voltage-pulse to patient by defibrillation pads; circuit of electrocardiogram monitoring, made with possibility of connection with defibrillation pads by monitoring electrodes, with defibrillation circuit containing electric conductor, carrying electric support potential, sufficient for absorption of excessive electric charge; gas-discharge tube, connected between one of monitoring electrodes and electric conductor; and light source. Light source is made with possibility, in fact, constant illumination of gas-discharge tube. Gas-discharge tube is made with possibility to preliminarily actuate, when illuminated, and provide breakdown conditions, with average breakdown voltage being lower in comparison with average voltage of breakdown of gas-discharge tube, which was not preliminarily actuated. Device for protection against overvoltage and method of applying gas-discharge tube in circuit of medical defibrillator are disclosed.
EFFECT: invention provides protection against overvoltage without application of radioactive materials.
