SUBSTANCE: method in vitro of diagnostics of a neurodegenerative disease in an individual is described. The method comprises determining the level of double-stranded RNA-dependent protein kinase (PKR) in a sample of cerebrospinal fluid of an individual. Based on the level of PKR a conclusion is made whether an individual suffers from a neurodegenerative disease.
