SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, medical diagnostics and concerns the use of substance (4S,7S,10S,13S)-4-((1H-imidazol-4-yl)methyl)-13-carbamoyl-10-(2-carboxyethyl)-7-methyl-2,5,8,11-tetraoxo-3,6,9,12-tetraazagexadecane-16-acid (SRFM) as a blood biomarker for diagnosing human neurodegenerative disorders and diseases by measuring concentration of SRFM in blood plasma of an individual. Level of concentration of SRFM in blood plasma in an individual with diagnosed disease is reliably lower in comparison with level of concentration of SRFM in blood plasma in a healthy individual. If the individual’s blood plasma SRFM concentration falls over time, a neurodegenerative disorder or a pathological process, including asymptomatic, is diagnosed.

EFFECT: effective diagnosis of neurodegenerative disorders and diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, mild cognitive decline syndrome, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis syndrome, craniocerebral injuries, including at early stages and asymptomatic.
