FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for differential diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease in a subject. Levels of expression of biomarkers of synuclein, RAGE, PINK and phosphorylated tau-protein in buccal epithelium are determined. A statistically significant reduction in the expression of synuclein, RAGE, PINK and an increase in the expression of phosphorylated tau-protein in the buccal epithelium compared to the expression levels of said biomarkers in a subject without Alzheimer's disease and in a subject with vascular dementia indicates the presence of Alzheimer's disease.
EFFECT: invention provides reliable lifetime diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease.
