FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, particularly to neurology, and can be used for differential diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease, vascular and mixed dementia. Method comprises determining level of amyloid protein aβ-42 (X7 pg/ml) and level of total tau-protein (X8 pg/ml). Determining presence of atherosclerosis (X1), estimating 1 point - presence, 0 - absence of atherosclerosis. Evaluating neuropsychological data based on "Battery tests to evaluate frontal dysfunction", by determining total score (X2), "5 words", defining delayed reproduction (X3, point), "drawing hours”, determining a total score (X4) “Tracking test”, determining time for executing part “B” (X5, s), “clinical dementia rating scale”,determining severity of dementia (X6 point). Calculating linear discriminant functions (LDF) using formulae. When LDF1> LDF2, LDF3 patients are diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. When LDF2> LDF1, LDF3 patients are diagnosed with vascular dementia. When LDF3 > LDF1, LDF2 patients are diagnosed with mixed dementia.

EFFECT: method enables simple, with high sensitivity and specificity, implementation of differential diagnosis of various forms of dementia by comprehensive assessment of best indicators of clinical and neuropsychological data and liquorologic data.
