USING PACAP FOR TREATING VIRAL INFECTIONS IN AQUATIC ORGANISMS Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61D7/00

Abstract RU 2567802 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: present invention refers to using pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) in treating viral diseases and viral infectious diseases in aquatic organisms.

EFFECT: what is shown is the efficacy of PACAP either separately, or in a combination with an antiviral molecule, manifested in increasing a survival rate of fish and shell fish infected with viruses, wherein PACAP has been administered orally, injected or by immersing into baths; besides, it has been observed that the treated organisms preserve or increase weight as compared to the infected, however untreated organisms PACAP or PACAP containing combinations reduce a viral load in tissues and organs sensitive to viral infections, as shown by reserve transcription PCR.
