SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and virology, namely to the use of the polyphenol complex of Amur maakia wood (PPC), the active substance of Maxar®, as an antiviral agent against SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. The use of the polyphenolic complex of Amur maakia wood, the active substance of Maxar®, as an antiviral agent against SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

EFFECT: agent has low cytotoxic activity against Vero E6 cells and exhibits virus-inhibiting dose-dependent activity against SARS-CoV-2 in tests on Vero E6 cell culture, most effectively inhibits the replication of SARS-CoV-2 when directly exposed to the virus (virucidal effect).
