FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: artificial retina represents matrix of sensor elements, each of which contains light-sensitive element in form of photodiode and electrode. Matrix of sensor elements represents matrix with mosaic light filters and includes central and peripheral areas. Sensor elements of smaller size or sensor elements with located between them sensor elements of larger size are located in central area of matrix with the following ratio: not more than one sensor element of larger size to six sensor elements of smaller size. Sensor elements of larger size or sensor elements of larger size with located between them sensor elements of smaller size are located in peripheral area of matrix with the following ratio: not more than one sensor element of smaller size to six sensor elements of larger size. Light filters of red, green and blue colours are applied on sensor elements of smaller size. Bionic eye contains artificial vitreous body from transparent gel and successively installed on it artificial cornea, iris, representing photochromic polymer film or photochromic glass with hole in the centre, crystalline lens and retina with electrodes, located in focal plane of crystalline lens.
EFFECT: application of claimed group of inventions will make it possible to improve colour reproduction and detailing, will preserve high rate of visual signals, as well as will make it possible to reduce dimensions of bionic eye.
