FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of removing tritium from tritium-contaminated materials using a detritiation reactor. Said materials are cleaned via a reaction which enables to remove tritium from wastes using a stream of a moist inert gas with a very low percentage of moisture. A stream of tritium-saturated gases is obtained by heating the wastes and said stream is removed from the reactor through the moist gas, which carries said stream to a membrane reactor for purification. The membrane reactor is configured to selectively remove tritium present in the gaseous mixture.
EFFECT: high efficiency of purifying a gaseous mixture when recovering tritium contained therein.
