FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: dimensions and coordinates of an object image centre are measured before and after displacement of an observation device at the angle to the optical axis. Determination of distance is carried out depending on the image shift value, which is compared to variation of object size during displacement.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of distance measurement.
