FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: nail plate is excised. Hypergranulations and a growth plate are removed on a side wall from the affected side. A part of the side wall is excised, which is followed by suturing. The procedure involves removing an adipocutaneous flap on the side wall from the affected side in the form of a triangular pyramid. An incision is made in parallel with an edge of the nail wall from a base of the nail plate to the end of the nail wall at 5-6 mm from the edge of the nail wall. Another incision is made at an angle to the first one from an upper point in the distal direction so that the incisions are spaced at 7 mm in the distant portion. A third skin incision is made in a distal portion of a nail bone, connecting lateral and medial incisions and extending up to a nail bed with the nail wall displaced in the lateral direction when closing the lateral wound.
EFFECT: strategy enables reducing surgical injuries and the number of recurrences.
